Apple Watch the brand new was unveiled on September 7, 2016. Its production has been blanketed in secrecy. Fans everywhere have been waiting for the big reveal and it is finally here. Was it worth the suspense? Let’s take a look at what all the hype has been about.
The Apple watch, as we know it, has been re-engineered to be waterproof. With some many point of entry, it was a huge undertaking to make sure that the watch could the water and pressure found at 50 meters. Apple was successful in accomplishing this goal in the latest release of the Apple Watch. Showering with Apple Watch Series 2 is not a problem while on the other hand we recommend not exposing your Apple Watch to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and perfumes as they can negatively affect water seals and acoustic membranes. Apple Watch should be cleaned with fresh water and dried with a lint free-cloth if it comes in contact with anything other than fresh water.
Water resistance isn’t a permanent condition and may diminish over time. Apple Watch can’t be rechecked.
Are you tired of the old look and feel of the Apple watch? Well, a new finish is being offered to give a modern feel. The new watch has a ceramic finish. The old gold Apple watch cases will now be replaced with stainless steel and aluminum cases choices. There will also be a new choice of bands.
Apple is in partnership with Nike and Hermes. A special band has been produced that caters to athletes such as runners. The band is silicone and a running app will be available to track your progress. You will also be able to access the popular game “Pokemon Go” from the watch.
Apple has poured a lot of time into placing a GPS chip inside the new watches. Although other features may have been expected with this release, Apple has other more pressing goals. The GPS installation will help untether the watch from the iPhone. This could mean that if you go for a quick jog, you could leave your phone behind, without the need to carry it with you. If your watch can cover all of your basic necessities, then the phone can stay home.
With the waterproof capabilities the watch has, going swimming in shallow water has been encouraged. This is how confident Apple is in their product. There is also a water lock capability inside the fitness app, so that splashes will not remove your screen from view. Fans are lining up pre-orders so that they can partake in this waterproof wonder. It is set to be released on September 16.
The price for this version has increased, but with good reason. The added protection and new features warrant a price increase. Though you will be able to use your Apple watch for so much more, you will still need to use your iPhone for daily use. The Series 2 watch does not yet have advanced cell phone features.
