If you are an Apple lover, you already know that the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus, along with the new Apple Watch, will soon be unveiled. Ahead of this long awaited reveal, Apple has finally activated a Twitter account and everyone is excited! Their new handle is @Apple. The activation comes as a shock because Apple actually obtained an account 5 years ago, but never put it to use. Followers are in a frenzy to follow the new Apple Twitter account and the numbers of followers are jumping up by the thousands. Apple has not even yet tweeted anything to the world!
So, what would a Twitter account from Apple be like? What do you think they would actually tweet about? A Bloomberg reporter, Mark Gurman, tweeted on yesterday that he believes Apple will likely live tweet the unveiling event held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on September 7th. Apple will then also use the account to continue to promote new products and grow their follower base. It will likely also promote iTunes and iBooks as well.
Apple Support (@AppleSupport) has been operating since earlier this year, as a way to bridge the gap with customers around the world. In hindsight, this may have been a test run to gauge how customers will interact with Apple through Twitter. This new corporate presence on Twitter, coming from Apple, will definitely be interesting to watch unfold. What will Apple and Twitter hatch up?
Only time will tell. There have been a few whispers about Twitter presenting an app to Apple TV, reported by the New York Times last month.Twitter has been gearing up for serious live streaming in recent times, and already has inked a deal for the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, as well as deals with multiple sports networks. Twitter has suffered from slow user growth, so it will definitely take something big to stimulate interest again.
